An indubitably chance meeting of two individuals from completely different cultures, standards and expectations.
And to add more dynamics to the play, both do not even reside in the same country. Yet, somehow and in some ways, both managed to find the right balance to bring a chance meeting to a lifetime commitment.
It all started with an innocent question, "Are you local?" voiced by a lone foreigner who seemed seeking for inside town know-how. The unsuspecting local did reply with an honest yes accompanied with helpful tips of do's and don'ts in the area. The back and forth exchange triggered the curiosity of the foreigner and drove him to shoot personal queries to the unguarded local. These harmless personal queries lead to a barrage of interrogatives of the local's credentials, making her pull out work and professional IDs and other supporting proofs in verification of each and every answer objected.
Such were the beginnings of these two lovebirds; interrogative, skeptical, could be even bordering cynical.
But as fate would have it, this encouter marked the inception of a bonding that withstood trials and challenges.
She moved courageously to a new country without anyone (friends, relatives) or anything (job) as plan B in case sole reliance on him would later prove to be unwise. He accepted her with arms wide open into a living arrangement with not much to go on but a mere promise to try to make "it" work.
Contracy to their doubts & uncertainties and after four years of investment, "Trying to make it work" has now evolved to "cannot imagine living without Ambobot". Interrogations have now developed to open communication, skepticism to encompassing trust, and cynicism to unquestioning loyalty. A relationship growth that has been well nurtured with years of together: together in happy days & could have been happy days; additionally anchored with the love and support from family and friends, there was no other foreseen progression but the natural maturation to take the solemnization path.
